The Childhood Center was notified by the Oklahoma State Department of Health that an employee had tested positive for COVID-19. We immediately implemented our protocol for an incident involving an employee or child who test positive for COVID-19.
NOTE: The employee was not present at the facility on Monday, June 22. The employee was last present on Friday, June 19.
As of June 27, 2020 the employee is resting comfortably at home and is doing well.
Automated phone call was completed briefly telling families about the incident and requesting their children be picked up ASAP.
Department of Human Service Child Care Division was notified of the incident as required by state law.
A company that provides decontamination services was contacted and we requested the decontamination of the entire facility begin. The company told us they would be dispatching a crew to the facility on Tuesday.
The company we used meets or exceeds the standards recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Last student was picked up and facility was vacated.
Phase 1 - "Fogging" the Facility
Decontamination Crew arrived at the facility and began Phase 1 of the decontamination process. The crew began the 6+ hour process by going room-to-room "fogging" each area with a non-chemical water-based solution. The "fogging" process allowed the product to go into every crevice of each room.
Phase 2 - Complete Deep Clean of Facility
Crew continued process by spending 9+ hours using disinfectant to clean floors, walls, surfaces, light switches, doors handles, bathrooms, and all items within rooms.
Phase 2 - Complete Deep Clean of Facility (Continued)
Crew continued the process of deep cleaning for an additional 9+ hours.
Phase 3 - "Fogging" the Facility
Crew spent 6+ hours fogging the facility again as they did in Phase 1.
Additional disinfecting of restrooms began.
Disinfecting process was completed.
